Staff, pupils, parents and friends of Saint Paul’s Catholic High School recently joined together to welcome the new Year 7 pupils and their parents and carers.
Each form from the year group contributed to the liturgy, some pupils read the Welcome prayer, whilst others focused on the gospel readings and the offertory presentation. Each of the forms was presented with a candle to use during their time at Saint Paul’s.
“It’s lovely to see the effort and enthusiasm of those pupils involved and for them to share such a special event with their families and friends.” explained Mrs Lisa Baillie, Assistant Headteacher at Saint Paul’s. “The Mass provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect and join in the singing. The atmosphere was amazing; it was a truly uplifting experience.”
“It was a wonderful service, all the youngsters enthusiastically joined in and the sound of their voices filling the school hall was marvelous,” said Mrs Fiona Minshall, Head Teacher at Saint Paul’s. “The service is a special time for the Year 7 pupils, parents and staff to share in welcoming the new pupils to the school.”
