Saint Paul’s has been working with the sports footwear company, New Balance. The company is keen to develop relationships with schools with the aim of building healthier, stronger communities.
Thomas Marsden from New Balance visited Saint Paul’s to work with the girls and allow them to try out their brands of boots. The boots have been designed to blend function and fashion, giving athletes the performance technology they need and the look and style they’d like.
The Year 7 & 8 Girls Football Team trialed the New Balance footwear in their training sessions and following the success of the boots they are now considering wearing them in their football matches.
Following positive feedback from the girls, the Boys Football Team trialed the boots during their matches.
Ms Wild, Head of PE at Saint Paul’s, said: “It has been fantastic to work with New Balance to promote sport and to encourage pupils to live a more healthy and active lifestyle.”
“New Balance has impressed us with their commitment to supporting our pupils and their promotion of physical activity and healthy nutrition,” commented Miss Tina Wilkinson, Deputy Headteacher at Saint Paul’s. “They have been very generous and the pupils were delighted to trial their boots; we hope they will lead them to further sporting success!”
