Year 6 pupils from the six Wythenshawe Catholic primary schools joined with a group of Year 7s from Saint Paul's at the secondary school where they celebrated Mass together. The Mass was part of the Wythenshawe schools transition programme which aims to make the move or transition from primary to secondary school as smooth and as unstresssful as possible.
Father Chris Matthews from the parish of Sacred Heart and St Peter's in Baguley said the Mass which was an uplifting and joyous occasion for all. The theme of the Mass was the Jubilee Year of Mercy and the liturgy focused on the mercy, love and compassion of God.
Mrs Lisa Baillie from Saint Paul’s said: “Pupils from each of the seven schools played a part in planning this wonderful Mass and it was lovely to see such a successful collaboration come to life.”
