Not only did Leigh Ann Coley win the Home theatre writing competition but she also scooped the Manchester Associate’s winter writing competition. The Manchester Associate’s competition is open to pupils from local secondary schools and all the judges were bowled over by Leigh Ann’s entry “Murder’s Prettiest in the Snow”.
Here’s an extract from her winning story:
“Before I continue and begin to describe the immaculate sheet of snow which covered the houses of Greenfall; or the crisp air that planted sharp kisses on skin not covered by fluffy gloves or billowing scarves or sweeping coats; or the gleaming lights that lit the candle of Christmas spirit in everyone, I will tell you about the Poet of Greenfall whose name is Blake Cornish. Yes. He lives.”
