Ethos and Values

Founded on the love of Christ and recognising the inestimable worth of each individual, Saint Paul's exists to foster, with care and compassion, personal, spritual and academic growth, extending into the community and beyond.

Spriritual development is at the core of all we do at Saint Paul's.  We aim to teach and foster the Gospel values of love of God and our neighbour, through our Curriculum and our Chaplaincy events.

The school has excellent support from the Clergy in the local area and continues to develop close links with our parishes.  Pupils are encouraged to participate fully in Parish activities.

The School Aims are to:

  • Teach and foster a Christian perspective in all that it does
  • Provide teaching of the highest calibre
  • Promote excellence in all areas
  • Develop the ability, talents and character of all pupils, enabling them to make their own unique contribution to school life
  • Encourage pupils to play their part in helping the community run smoothly and effectively by taking on responsibility and leadership

The aims are supported by the five Christian values of service, respect, stewardship, compassion and love which have been adopted by the school.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Faith life of the school through:

  • Collective worship in assemblies
  • Pupil participation in liturgies
  • Thought for the week in form groups
  • Chaplaincy team pastoral work
  • Retreat days & residentials
  • Year 7 class mass
  • Celebration of the feast day of Saint Peter and Saint Paul
  • Justice and Peace group
  • Faith and Light group
  • Fundraising & charitable collections throughout the year
