The Key Safeguarding Hub

With children spending more time online, now is a good time to remind ourselves of the risks certain websites, apps and social media can pose, so that we are all aware of the steps we can take to protect our children.

Parents and carers, you now have access to a safeguarding hub that allows you to access interactive guidance on setting up parental controls on your child’s devices, as well as guidance on apps like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram and more.

Guidance & Advice for Parents

Supporting Your Child With Eating Problems

Problems can start to emerge when a child or young person feels under pressure. They may lose their appetite; or they may turn to food for comfort and eat even when they are not hungry; their worries about food may be related to their size or body shape, or can be more about their emotions and self-esteem.

Supporting Your Child Who is Self Harming

As a parent, you might suspect that your child is self-harming. If you are worried, this information can help you identify the signs.

Supporting Your Child with Drugs & Alcohol

There are things you can do as a parent to help your child develop a healthy and informed relationship with alcohol and drugs. But if you think your child may be using alcohol or drugs to help them cope with difficult feelings or mental health issues, speak to your GP for professional advice.

Supporting Your Child with School Anxiety & Refusal

If your child is struggling at school, the important thing is to recognise that there’s a problem to be solved, and to work with your child and the school to find the right support as soon as you can.
