The team is led by Mr Harrington, Assistant Head Teacher. He is supported by 5 Progress Leaders who are assigned to a single year group. In 2021, St. Paul’s Governor’s recognised the importance of pastoral care in school and invested in the recruitment of a team of non-teaching Pastoral Assistants.
A Pastoral Assistant is assigned to support a specific year group and is focused on the physical and mental wellbeing of the students they care for. The Pastoral Team prides itself on the wrap-around care it gives to St. Paul’s students, ensuring that concerns are rapidly dealt with and issues addressed.
The team model the kind of behaviour we expect from all stakeholders in our school; they are all first-aid trained and are experienced dealing with pastoral issues. Pastoral care has been recognised as one of the key strengths of our school and reflects the Catholic ethos of St. Paul’s Catholic High School.
