Saint Paul’s Celebrates Success

Former students and their families were welcomed back to Saint Paul’s for a special Certificate and Awards Presentation where they received their exam certificates.

The event is the school’s annual celebration of the achievements of its students during the previous academic year with awards being given to students from last year’s Year 11 for both achievement and progress. There was a host of awards celebrating success throughout all aspects of life at Saint Paul’s.

Parents, friends, students and teachers gathered to recognise the achievements of the students and this important milestone in their lives. The event was another proud moment for the school and a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the success of the students and the staff who support them.

The school was delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor June Hitchen to the event as guest of honour. The Lord Mayor was able to speak from experience with the students about their progress and their achievements as her son used to attend Saint Paul’s!

The school was also delighted to welcome leading African-British artist, Mama Toro MBE, who presented ex-pupil, Harry Keita, with a Mama Toro Arts Award based on his GCSE artwork.

Head Teacher, Mr Alex Hren, thoroughly enjoyed the evening stating that “The evening was a great success; it was fantastic to see the Lord Mayor and Mama Toro back at the school. They are both very engaging speakers and the students and their parents/carers were enthralled by them and the messages they delivered.”

The Presentation Ceremony where ex-students return to school to collect their exam certificates is a high point in the school calendar. Their proud families joined with us to celebrate their wonderful achievements. We wish them all every success in the next chapter of their lives and wish to thank parents for all the support they have given them and us over the past few years.”
