Strike Action Wednesday 1 February

Due to industrial action taken by the NEU teaching union there will be disruption to the normal school day on Wednesday 1st February 2023. The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over teachers’ pay and not because of any issues at our school.

Please be aware of the following changes –

Year 11 will continue with their mock examinations and will sit the exam papers at the following times:
Mathematics – 9am to 10.30am – students not sitting the History exam will be dismissed from school at the end of break 11.10am.
History – 11.10am – 12.10pm – pupils will be dismissed at the end of the examination and a packed lunch will be available for those entitled to free school meals.

Year 7 – Year 9 New Horizons students will attend school as normal.

School will be open to some additional pupils, including those with an EHCP. Parents will be  contacted directly if your child belongs to this group.

All other students will NOT be expected to attend school on this day and students will be able to access online resources through the school’s remote portal. Students will also have access to their online learning platforms associated with certain subjects (STAR Reader, STAR Maths, Dr Frost, SENECA, Kerboodle and BBC Bitesize).
