Creative Voices Shine: Poetry Club at Saint Paul’s

The Poetry Club at Saint Paul’s Catholic High School has been buzzing with creativity and inspiration this term. Students have been exploring the power of words, crafting original poems that reflect their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Adding a touch of star quality to their journey, the club recently welcomed a special guest panel featuring a Hollyoaks actress, who offered feedback and encouragement to the budding poets. This exciting opportunity gave students a unique insight into performance and storytelling from a professional perspective.

The project has been running all half-term and the students have received fantastic inspiring masterclass sessions from a professional poet in Manchester. The theme of their writing has been identity.

Looking ahead, the club is working towards an exciting collaborative project: the creation of a poetry zine and a live performance event scheduled. This showcase will bring together students from several schools across Manchester, celebrating young voices and the vibrant poetry scene growing within local communities.

With passion, talent, and teamwork at the heart of their efforts, the Poetry Club is not only nurturing literary skills but also building confidence and connection through the art of expression.
