Faith in Action

Our group meets every Thursday to plan and prepare charity events throughout the academic year. The purpose is to draw together our community of St Paul’s students to make a difference.

Our Youth SVP group has worked hard through multiple charity accomplishments to better the community they live in. The events reflect the giving nature of our students who are always willing to support charity efforts.

Based on the teachings from St Paul’s second letter to Timothy (2 Timothy 4:7) where he says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”, we at St Paul’s understand the true value of having ‘fought the good fight’. In the Wythenshawe community alone, there 1,323 children being fed through the help of the Wythenshawe Foodbank (Trussell Trust), and as pillars of the community we recognise the need to support those in our community that are helping those who need it most. We believe the fight against poverty is a battle that all Catholics have a duty to participate in, and through our work we know that families in our school community, but also our local community; have a life line that they can rely on in times of need.

Charity Work

At Saint Paul’s, we actively encourage our pupils to consider others in need and to help them through the giving of both their time and effort.

The organising of fundraising events is therefore a key part of the school’s ethos.

Our charity fund raising includes support for the following charities:

  • Cafod
  • Macmillan
  • Caritas
  • Cornerstone Centre
  • Teenage Cancer Trust
  • Wythenshawe Food Bank
  • Poppy Appeal
  • Cancer Research
