Welcome to
Saint Paul’s Catholic High School
Headteacher Mr Alex Hren
Congratulations to the Class of 2021
Every single result has been earned by the student and is a fair reflection of their performance and abilities. The changes implemented owing to cancelled exams could never have addressed all the shortcomings in the system, but school staff have worked really hard to set and mark assessments, review previous work, and ensure they are consistent and fair. The grade profile is different to previous years, but we would expect that given the different approach to assessments.
Pupils and staff of St Paul’s have reason to celebrate these latest results with some of our students achieving among the top grades in the country.
73% of pupils at St Paul’s achieved a Grade 4 or better in English, and 58% achieved this in both English and Maths. Similarly, in Art 79% achieved 4 or better as did 76% of those taking French, and all of those entered for Biology.
Fifteen St Paul’s candidates achieved at least one Grade 9 in fourteen differrent subjects, placing them amongst the highest performing students in the country. One pupil achieved six Grade 9s which is an extraordinary achievement.
These results are a testament to the incredible young people of St Paul’s. My thanks go to all staff for their hard work and on-going commitment and to the parents and carers of our children for their wonderful support.
We wish all our Year 11 pupils success in their future education and careers and we look forward to seeing them at the GCSE Awards Evening planned for December 2021.
