Inspirational Dance Workshop

Students from Saint Paul’s Catholic High School enjoyed a visit from a professional dancer from The Lowry who worked with a group of Year 9 and Year 10 aspiring dancers.

The school was delighted to take part in a wonderful contemporary dance experience as part of The Lowry CAT scheme. The Lowry CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) gives young people access to high quality dance training.

CATS help identify, and assist, young people with exceptional potential, regardless of their personal circumstances, to benefit from world-class specialist training as part of a broad and balanced education. The Lowry CAT taster dance workshops provide an insight into the world of contemporary dance.

Working with a professional dancer, the students explored a variety of contemporary dance.

Mrs Slater, Head of Performing Arts, explained: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn more about contemporary dance and to take part and experiment in a very supportive environment. The students really enjoyed taking part in such a fun and energetic workshop.”

Mr Whiteside, Headteacher, added: “This was a great experience for all the students, the session was extremely energetic, upbeat and inspiring. Involvement in workshops like this provide a very valuable experience for our students and enhance the learning curriculum.”

Thank you to the Lowry CAT for a fantastic visit!
