New Books in the Library

Promoting a love of reading

We are delighted to receive the latest delivery of new books for the school library and are very keen to continue with our programme of promoting a love of reading at Saint Paul’s.

The new books are designed to encourage a joy of reading and a love of books. We have some extremely avid readers at Saint Paul’s who have already read several million words.

“We recognise the importance of instilling a love of reading in every student. We like to remind students and staff of all ages to make reading a priority activity in their lives,” explained Mrs Savova, Librarian. “We want people to make reading a regular part of their routine whether they’re reading solo or together with their classmates, parents, or friends. We want to help students to develop a life-long love of reading. It is very important to instil in young people a need and desire to read.”

“As a school, we try hard to promote a real passion and enthusiasm for reading in all its forms,” explained Mr Jamie Sharrock, English teacher and Literacy Coordinator. “We know that students who read, gain a greater understanding of the world in which they live, they learn to appreciate how writers use language for effect and they extend their repertoire of vocabulary.”
