Reading Rewarded

A group of dedicated readers were rewarded for their positive attitude to reading by being invited to a Pizza Party in the school library.

Saint Paul’s wants to encourage their pupils to make reading a regular part of their routine whether they’re reading solo or together with their classmates, parents, or friends. The school wants to help them to develop a life-long love of reading. It is very important to instil in young people a need and desire to read.

Mrs Savova, Librarian at Saint Paul’s, explained: “We rewarded five students in each class – the top three with the highest word count plus two students nominated by their teacher (readers who have shown excellent effort and progress).
The competition has had a big impact – our school word count is now more than 40,000,000 (41,431,931 words) and we hope to be able to repeat it this term.
