Each day at 10:00am, reflective music is played throughout the school as both staff and students participate in our Sacred Pause — a moment designed to bring calm, stillness, and spiritual reflection into the school day.
As we entered the season of Lent, our 10am reflective music changed to Parce Domine, a traditional Gregorian chant that beautifully captures the solemn and contemplative nature of this liturgical period. Its simplicity and depth invite us into a quieter space, and many may find it a moving piece to explore further in their own time.
The purpose behind introducing reflective music was to offer everyone in our community a daily opportunity to pause, breathe and embrace silence — something many of us can find challenging in the busyness of school life. During the Sacred Pause and our Celebration of the Word, staff see it as essential that they model the significance of reflection and reverence for our students.
“In a world that constantly asks us to hurry, the Sacred Pause reminds us of the beauty of slowing down. Even a few moments of quiet can open our hearts to something deeper.” commented Mrs Stewart, RE Teacher.
These daily “pauses” are among the most meaningful acts of wellbeing we can offer to the Saint Paul’s community. They serve as gentle reminders to slow down, be present, and create space for thought, prayer, or quiet stillness, moments that can nurture both personal and collective wellbeing.
