Students from Saint Paul’s and All Saints, both members of the Corpus Christi Trust, came together for a special pilgrimage to St Joseph’s Church in Stockport as part of the Jubilee Year of Hope. This holy year, declared by Pope Francis, is a time for Catholics to renew their faith, seek God’s mercy, and grow in unity.
Fifteen Year 9 students from Saint Paul’s walked to St Joseph’s with staff, while Year 9 students from All Saints made their own pilgrimage from the other side of town. Each school carried half of a Jubilee Year banner, which they joined together upon arrival as a sign of unity and shared faith.

St Joseph’s church had been designated a Jubilee pilgrimage site for the Diocese of Shrewsbury, where pilgrims can receive special graces and spiritual renewal. To take part in this blessing, people can attend Mass, pray for the Pope’s intentions, and receive the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion.
This pilgrimage also linked beautifully with the CAFOD Big Lent Walk charitable initiative, which encouraged students to walk in solidarity with those in need. By making this journey, students not only deepened their faith but also lived out the message of the Jubilee Year—bringing hope to others through prayer and action.

This pilgrimage was a powerful symbol of faith, hope, and unity, reminding students that they were part of something greater—a Church that walked together in faith and service to others.
