SEND

The dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team comprises knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced specialists who work collaboratively with students, parents, carers, staff, and other stakeholders. Their primary goal is to allow all students access to the resources they need to achieve their full potential.

The team consists of specialised teaching staff and Teaching Assistants who provide support to students requiring extra assistance in accessing the curriculum during lessons and throughout the school day. They focus on identifying each student’s individual needs and delivering tailored, targeted support. Whether a student has a Special Educational Need or Disability or struggles with certain aspects of the curriculum, the SEND team is committed to providing appropriate support to allow students to engage with their studies effectively.

Support offered by the team can take several forms: literacy and numeracy tuition, in-class assistance, small group work, and interventions for various learning difficulties. Additionally, students may have access to specialised equipment and programs.

Each student working with the SEND team is assigned a SEND contact, adding an extra layer of support for both the student and their family. Specific interventions and customised programs are carefully designed and closely monitored to address each student’s unique needs, removing barriers to success.

The department also offers an invite-only club during break and lunchtime, where identified students can meet, study, and socialise.
