Students are eagerly preparing for their Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) trip to Madrid this July, where they will have the opportunity to enhance their language skills and immerse themselves in Spanish culture. To support their journey, the students have been actively fundraising, coming up with creative ideas to gather the necessary funds.

One of the most popular fundraising activities has been “Sponge the Teacher,” where students get the chance to throw wet sponges at their willing teachers. This fun and engaging event saw many staff members volunteering to participate, much to the delight of the students. In a remarkable show of support and enthusiasm, the students managed to raise an impressive £210 in less than an hour during the first event.

Given the success and popularity of the initial “Sponge the Teacher” event, another session is planned for the end of this term. The students are hopeful that this, along with other fundraising efforts, will help them reach their goal and ensure a memorable and educational trip to Madrid.
Stay tuned for more updates on their fundraising progress and the exciting adventures that await them in Spain!
