Sustainability

Year 8 pupils took part in a series of workshops hosted by Chester Zoo focusing on sustainability and the issues associated with palm oil.
The over-consumption of natural resources threaten both wildlife and humanity. Chester Zoo is leading by example and engaging students in a vital dialogue and debate on environmental issues with the aim of achieving a more sustainable society.

Acting sustainably means meeting the needs of the present without harming or compromising the future – or, to put it more simply, giving back at least as much as we take from nature.

Miss Allsopp explained: “All the workshops were very informative, hands-on and fun and we are really grateful to Chester Zoo for the fantastic experience. Our students’ passionate response to the challenges we face is wonderful to see; and can make a big difference.”
