The Year 10 Work Experience programme plays a vital role in preparing students for the transition from education to the world of work. By stepping into real workplace environments, students gain first-hand insight into working life and begin to understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with employment.
As part of the programme, students practiced key employability skills such as completing job applications and attending interviews. These experiences not only built their confidence but also allowed them to begin assembling a portfolio of evidence to showcase their strengths to future employers. Skills such as teamwork, motivation, problem-solving, and communication were developed and demonstrated throughout the week.

During their placements, students took on real tasks and responsibilities, working alongside professionals and gaining valuable experience that will support their future career paths. Impressively, several students were even offered apprenticeships as a direct result of their performance during the week.

We were thrilled to receive fantastic feedback from employers, who praised the students’ enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn. Their positive comments reflect the success of the programme and the bright futures ahead for our students.
