Year 11 Aspiration Day

Year 11s had the opportunity to reflect on their future path once they leave Saint Paul’s during the school’s recent Aspiration Day. They were able to gain valuable help and tips from universities, colleges and employers in a series of workshops.

Manchester University held a workshop where pupils were able to find out what student life is really like from a current student, including academic study, extra-curricular activities, accommodation, pastoral support and different types of HE providers.

GM Higher hosted a session focused on interview skills which offered support for students in preparing for college, HE and employment interviews.

Revision Skills session supported students in preparing for revision and exams.

The Manchester College discussed college Interviews and CV Writing. The session supported students in thinking about what a CV is and how to make a good CV for employment interviews.

Healthy Schools – held a session on Wellbeing and Revision.

What’s My Job students enjoyed sessions from Jaguar Landover.

Past Student Alumni – offered pupils lots of tips and advice from their own personal experience at Saint Paul’s and beyond.

Financing futures – there was a drama performance by ‘Yes’ Theatre Company which focused on Financing Futures and Further Education. The performance was dynamic, fun and inspirational; there were a lot of positive comments in our student voice feedback!

Ms Hitchen, Careers lead, who organised the event said: “The day was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn some extremely valuable information and raise their aspirations. The school achieved the Gatsby Benchmarks relating to this key event enriching through careers education.
