Our Year 8 students have been exploring the essential skill of map reading in their Geography classes. The focus is on understanding and interpreting map symbols, which serve as the language of maps. Students are learning how these symbols represent real-world features and how to use them to locate places and navigate effectively.

Through a variety of hands-on activities, they explore different types of maps, practice identifying key landmarks, and develop strategies for finding information quickly and accurately. By the end of the unit, students will have the confidence and ability to read and interpret maps with ease, an invaluable skill for both academic success and everyday life.
