Year 9 students from Saint Paul’s Catholic High School recently took part in an exciting PGL residential trip, an experience filled with adventure, teamwork and memories that will last a lifetime.

From the moment they arrived, students embraced every challenge thrown their way. Staff were especially proud to see students pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones, trying new activities and growing in confidence throughout the week. It was wonderful to watch many of our students truly blossom in a new environment, showing resilience, determination and real enthusiasm.
Mrs Chisnall, Year 9 Progress Leader commented: “The PGL residential was great fun, designed to help our students grow. The trip combined thrilling outdoor challenges with practical learning, helping students develop key skills such as teamwork, independence, problem‑solving and resilience. These experiences not only prepare students for school life and exams, but also equip them with essential skills for future employment and adulthood.

The PGL staff were fantastic, giving a warm welcome and were full of energy, their support made both staff and students feel instantly at home. The students built strong relationships, tackled activities with confidence and engaged fully in every part of the programme.”
The Year 9 group returned home tired, smiling and full of stories, each one a reminder of how powerful these shared experiences can be. We are incredibly proud of everything they achieved and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow from this unforgettable adventure.
