As part of the Year 11 students’ Health and Social Care course, they are focusing on the care industry. The students suggested visiting a local care home at Christmas to deliver Christmas cards and chat with the elderly residents.

The trip was of great benefit to the students, giving them a real-life experience of life in a care home which will then influence their coursework.

The residents really enjoyed meeting the students who they said were extremely polite and friendly. It was lovely to see our students conversing with the residents, taking time to ask them questions and discuss their own lives. The students made beautiful cards to give to the residents and got lots of valuable information about life in the care home to use for their coursework.
