Year 8 Climate Compassion Project

The Science Department is delighted to announce the launch of the Year 8 Climate Compassion Project, beginning this week in celebration of Earth Day 2025.

This meaningful initiative is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge needed to become informed and responsible global citizens, with a particular focus on climate change and the Earth’s dwindling resources. Throughout the project, students will also have the chance to develop their writing, comprehension, and evaluative skills.

As part of their learning, students will explore Laudato Si’, the encyclical by the late Pope, and reflect on how its messages can be applied to their own lives in caring for the planet and supporting those — both people and other living beings — who are affected by climate change.

We encourage you to talk to your children about this exciting project.

Let’s inspire compassion for our climate together.
