Recently some of our Year 11 pupils have been on life skills trips to help build their independence before they start their Post 16 choices in September.
The pupils had to navigate a route from school to the nearest tram stop and then work out the type of ticket they needed before buying it. The pupils had to board the tram and relay to the rest of the group when we were at the right stop.
We travelled to Wythenshawe town centre where pupils were able to visit the shops and cafes of their choice to make purchases. Pupils had to budget their spending to ensure they were able to manage their money appropriately. Pupils also had to interact with members of public and even managed to negotiate a price reduction in one shop!
Miss Chisnall commented: “Even though the weather on both the trips was pretty miserable the pupils all had a fantastic time and are already planning a trip further afield.”
