A cohort of Year 10 students from Saint Paul’s were given an incredible opportunity to study on the Make Your Mark programme, through The Brilliant Club.
The Make Your Mark programme concluded with a celebration event hosted by Greater Manchester Higher at the Manchester Metropolitan University Campus. The event was designed to celebrate the students’ successes on the Make Your Mark programme, consolidating their knowledge and use of the programme’s study strategies, learning about university life, and meeting undergraduate student ambassadors in a non-school environment.
The Year 10 students took part in study strategies reflection sessions, had a campus tour with student ambassadors and attended a session focused on providing university information, advice and guidance.
Miss Fannon, Assistant Headteacher at Saint Paul’s, said, “It has been an amazing process with our students tenaciously working hard and striving for excellence; of which they were accordingly rewarded. A special thanks to their families who have supported their children with this momentous achievement”.
Mr Fannon, Deputy Headteacher, added: “This really is a remarkable achievement, we are extremely proud of those students who took part in the project. They enjoyed the work and showed so much enthusiasm for each topic.”
“The Graduation Ceremony was an exciting and prestigious event marking their remarkable achievements,” commented Mr Whiteside, Headteacher. “The course was designed to give the students a real experience of university level work. Their positive attitude was extremely useful in helping them to achieve their best and truly benefit from the experience.”
